SLT procedures are used to treat open-angle glaucoma that cannot be controlled with medications or eye drops.

At South Texas Eye Consultants, we use Lumenis® Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) surgery to increase the drainage outflow by treating the drainage area of the eye. Specific pigmented tissue cells in the eyes are targeted with laser light, leaving the other delicate tissues untouched. This laser system has been proven to reduce eye pressure in just one treatment, but it may need to be repeated over time.
